PHOTOGRAPHY - THE COMPLETE PICTURE WORKSHOP:

James Schot presents “the complete picture” overview on photography at his state of the art studio in Fort Lauderdale. This workshop will have four consecutive weekly sessions every month, beginning the 1st Saturday of each month:

1st Saturday – Your Camera – How it works and how you work it. It begins with an overview: there is always more to learn. I’ve been at it for 35 years and I never think I know it all or can’t review what I do know. From there we expand to become one with our camera. You will leave this session knowing how to better implement what you already know, and learn many more new techniques and skills, and more. Bring your camera and questions, to be sure you learn things specific to your needs. (11:00-2pm/short breather)

2nd Saturday – Lighting – the essential component in great photography, and as such, first having an understanding of how our eyes and camera see and react to light…is essential. Then it’s important to understand the photographic language of light, lighting, and it’s characteristics, as well as learning ways to control them. From there we will review high key and low key lighting and everything in between angles of light, accent lighting, gobos and more. We continue with for deeper hands-on exploration of equipment and lighting set-ups, closing out the session by photographing a subject to be worked in Lightroom, and PhotoShop sessions. (11:00-3:30pm/short breather)

3rd Saturday – Lightroom – The next stop for your photography. This begins by exploring what this program can do for you, and extends to a complete overview and applying the application to imported photographs. This is an incredible program for organizing and non-destructively making essential adjustments. (11-1:30pm w/short breather)

4th Saturday – PhotoShop – For those final enhancements. We begin with an overall look at this program, and continue with taking our select photographs from Lightroom into PhotoShop for final enhancements, exploring the powerful possibilities of this program. (12-1:30pm w/short breather)

All four sessions combined will give the complete picture of how all things work together in this digital age of photography. We welcome interaction and your questions.

Topic session the 1st, 3rd 4th Saturdays requires a payment of $39.95. The 2nd Saturday – Lighting is a longer session requiring a payment of $59.95. Sign up for all 4 sessions and take a 10% discount of the total. To reserve a seat please sign up using Paypal, check, M.O., or cash by January 31st. Call 954-564-1112 if there are any questions. There is an aphorism – You can give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day… Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime. My workshops are tailored to teach you photography that will help you understand and make creative visual decisions, as well as technically implement them, so you will be prepared to deal with images you have yet to visualize.

My advice is this: If you are an artists with this in mind… “forget the technical stuff, I only want to be creative,” … I suggest you splash paint. If you are interested in only mastering a single aspect of photography, let me teach it to you in a private class. If you, on the other hand you’d like to learn photography for a lifetime, sign up for my workshops.
